This course is for participants that have a CURRENT BLS CERTIFICATION from the American Heart Association. BLS Certification cannot be expired. A Current BLS Provider Card must be verified by the CMH AHA Training Center prior to class. If your previous BLS certification was obtained at a location other than Children's Mercy Hospital then that card must be faxed to 816-234-9263 with completion of the online registration PRIOR to class.
Target Population: This is a pediatric course designed to enhance the healthcare provider's basic pediatric life support knowledge to prepare students to initiate and manage the first few minutes of a pediatric arrest or prevent the arrest of a pediatric victim in severe cardiopulmonary distress. It is a video-based, instructor-led, traditional classroom course. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a PEARS Provider Course Completion Card.
Program Accreditation: PEARS Standards are set by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. All participants who successfully pass the completion criteria for the course will be issued a PEARS Provider card, affirming completion of the course. PEARS training must be updated every 2 years.
